Between 18-21 June, 2024, The Siracusa International Institute for Criminal Justice and Human Rights kicked off the first pilot training course in the framework of the Regional Atrocity Crimes Training Platform (REACT) project.

The first workshop on “Practical Introduction to International Criminal Law”, organized in cooperation with Tbilisi State University and the Prosecutor General’s Office of Georgia, focused on analysing the evolution of international crimes and examining the current national and international legal frameworks. It aimed to provide participants with both theoretical and practical tools to complement their knowledge and enable them to effectively investigate and prosecute these crimes.

Next week, the Institute will focus on the practical aspects of these critical issues in its second workshop on ‘Evidence Gathering and Management in the Investigation and Prosecution of Atrocity Crimes’, at the Tbilisi State University, Georgia.
